Julian Leff: Obituary

(1938–2021)

It was a bittersweet start to the AVATAR2 trial when in February this year, just weeks after our launch event, we learned of the sad passing of Professor Julian Leff. Julian’s influence and innovation in Psychiatry leaves a legacy which will endure, and we are proud to carry forward his pioneering AVATAR therapy.

Many of the AVATAR2 team were lucky enough to count Julian amongst their colleagues and friends. Amongst them, Professor Tom Craig who in this article, published in World Social Psychiatry, looks back on Julian’s life:
